Plate Stack ("the Service", "we", "us", "our") is a restaurant point-of-sale and operations platform operated by Adon Projects and Unique Services Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria, at the website platestack.ng.
In these documents: "you" or "the Restaurant" means the business that subscribes to Plate Stack and the owner/administrator who accepts these terms; "Staff" means the people you give login access to; "your Customers" means the diners and buyers whose details you record in the Service; and "personal data" has the meaning given in the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Plate Stack lets you take orders at the counter and online, run kitchen, bar and delivery screens, manage tables, staff, shifts, payroll, inventory, expenses, customers, receipts and reports. Features available to you depend on your subscription plan.
To use the Service you create an account with a valid email address and set a password and PIN. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
You must give accurate registration information and keep it up to date. Accounts are for genuine restaurant businesses; one restaurant, one account.
You agree to use Plate Stack only for lawful purposes in running your restaurant, and you agree not to:
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for how you run your business on the Service, and for obtaining any consents you need from your own Customers and Staff (see sections 11 and 20).
You decide who among your Staff gets access and at what level (roles such as cashier, kitchen, manager, and any custom roles you create). Each Staff member should log in only with their own username and PIN, shared PINs make your reports and money trail untrustworthy, and you accept responsibility for how your Staff use the accounts you give them. You can require clock-in only on devices you approve, and you can deactivate a Staff member at any time, which cuts off their access immediately.
What Plate Stack does and does not do. Plate Stack is a tool to help you record and organise how your restaurant runs. It is not an accountant, a lawyer, a tax agent, or a regulator, and it does not file anything on your behalf. In particular:
You are responsible for taking your own professional advice (accounting, legal, tax) where you need it. Plate Stack is provided to assist your record-keeping, not to replace that advice.
When your Customers pay you, at the counter or online, Plate Stack records the payment method and the amount so your reports and receipts are accurate. We never see, handle, or store card numbers, card PINs, CVVs or bank credentials. Online card payments are processed entirely by Paystack, a licensed payment provider, under their own terms and security (PCI-DSS). Any dispute about a specific payment is between you, your Customer, and the payment provider.
The Plate Stack software, design, and brand belong to Adon Projects and Unique Services Ltd. Subscribing gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your subscription is active, it does not transfer any ownership of the software to you.
Your data is yours. The menus, orders, customer records, and everything else you put into or generate in the Service remain your property. We claim no ownership of it and use it only to provide the Service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy below.
We work hard to keep Plate Stack reliable, including a status page and automatic backups, and the Service is built to keep taking orders even when your internet drops. But we provide the Service "as is" and cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent allowed by Nigerian law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or lost sales), and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three (3) months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service or your breach of these terms, including claims by your Customers or Staff relating to data you were responsible for.
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, or where we must to comply with the law.
What happens to your data:
We may update these terms and this policy from time to time, for example, when we add features or change a provider. If a change is significant, we will give you reasonable notice (in-app or by email). Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated version; the version and date are shown at the top of this page.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and your rights. It is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the standards of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Plate Stack handles two different kinds of personal data, and the law treats them differently:

| Orders & money | Orders, receipts, discounts, voids, refunds, and the method and amount of each payment. Not card numbers. |
| Files you upload | Expense receipt photos or PDFs, menu item images, your restaurant logo. These are checked to confirm they are genuine images/PDFs. |
| Operations | Inventory, expenses, vendors, and the identifiers of the devices you approve for clock-in. |
| Technical | IP address and basic request logs (used for security, rate-limiting and fraud prevention), and an audit trail of key actions (who did what, when). |
We use account and operational data to provide the Service you signed up for (our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you), to bill you, to keep the Service secure and prevent fraud (our legitimate interest and legal obligations), and to support you and send you essential service messages. Your Customers' data is processed only to provide the Service to you, under your control, as your processor.
We do not sell any personal data, and we do not use your data or your Customers' data to train artificial-intelligence models.
We share data only with the trusted providers we need to run the Service ("sub-processors"), each under their own security and privacy obligations:

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or the security of the Service. We do not otherwise share your data with third parties, and we never sell it.
The help widget inside Plate Stack can answer questions using an AI service (Anthropic's Claude). When you type a question there, that question is sent to Anthropic to generate an answer, and is not used to train their models. Please treat it like any support chat: do not paste passwords, PINs, card numbers, or other secrets into it. If you prefer not to use it, you can always "Talk to a human" instead or email us.
Some of our providers store or process data on servers outside Nigeria. Where data is transferred abroad, we rely on providers that offer an adequate level of protection and appropriate safeguards, consistent with the NDPA. By using the Service you understand that this transfer takes place so that we can provide it to you.
No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and up-to-date measures to protect your data.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. After an account is cancelled or closed, we keep it for 30 days and then permanently delete it from live systems; encrypted backups age out after that. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires (for example, tax or accounting records).
Under the NDPA you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable form. You can export your restaurant's data yourself at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy, or contact us to exercise any of these rights. We will respond within the time the law allows. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Note: where a request concerns one of your Customers' records, we will act on your instruction as your processor, the Customer should contact the Restaurant, which is their data controller.
Because you are the data controller of your Customers' details, you are responsible for collecting them lawfully and fairly, telling your Customers what you record and why, and only keeping what you genuinely need to serve them. You must not use the Service to send unwanted marketing or to misuse anyone's personal data. On request, we can provide a standalone Data Processing Agreement (DPA) setting out our processor commitments in more detail.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you logged in securely, remember device preferences (such as till mode), and let the app work offline. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Plate Stack is a business tool and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 as a user of the Service.
If a data breach affecting personal data occurs, we will act promptly to contain it and, where the law requires, notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission and affected parties within the required timeframe.
